Janine Shifman

A dedicated Women's Health and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and trained Birth Doula.

Janine is a dedicated physiotherapist with over 18 years of experience, specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and women's health. Alongside her expertise, she's also a trained birth doula and has been fortunate to witness and support many women as they birth. Her unique background combines hands-on experience supporting women during childbirth with her physiotherapy skills, allowing her to provide compassionate, evidence-based care.

With a diverse background spanning private practice, clinical Pilates, and major public hospitals, Janine's focus shifted to women's health after becoming a mother. She holds a Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and has undergone further training in Internal Pelvic Release work, pelvic floor rehabilitation, prolapse management, pelvic pain, and pre and postnatal physiotherapy.

Janine's holistic approach to treatment recognises the intricate connection between the pelvic tissues and overall physical and mental health. Her multifaceted approach aims to empower women to achieve optimal pelvic health and well-being at every stage of life.

Janine is also engaged in academic research and has recently published a qualitative study on labor pain and birth strategies conducted through Latrobe University and Mercy Health.
